Happy Birthday AD! by Samaki Walker

When Tom caught up with me I was staying after practice working on my outside game. I want to take my game to the next level. I think everybody knows that I am capable of scoring in the low post. Not too many people have seen my outside game. I want to make sure that I can hit my shot when needed. Tim and David do a lot of posting up and they create a lot of offense that way. I want to contribute in any way I can and be able to put the ball on the floor and create.

With Malik and Sean out there has been some added pressure on me to step up. I am always ready to take on added pressure. This is a team that is capable of winning a ring. We still feel good about ourselves. We gave a few games away and that is something that we can work on. We just need to play 48 minutes. I assure you we are working on it and will continue to improve.

Shelly asked how I am feeling. I am feeling good, just some minor knocks and bruises. It does get physical inside but that is just part of the game. I deal with it and go on. I understand my role and want to do whatever my team needs me to do.

Ben asked about my relationship with Antonio. Antonio is a good friend of mine. We are both from the same hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Last year I mentioned that our high school teams met in the State playoffs. No need to remind you who won! Antonio is such a great player and he is constantly improving. From high school on up he is always working on his game.

We are fortunate to be so deep in the backcourt. Terry Porter, AJ and Antonio give us a lot of different options. We love Derek Anderson too because he is Mr. Creativity. He creates for the big guys and has been playing great this year. That depth will help us tremendously come playoff time.

I noticed AD has his gear up and running. He has not given me an AD-T yet! If he does, I'll rock it. I'll wear it because AD is my guy and I have got to represent my hometown man! I appreciate him letting me sit in and all of your support. Thanks.
