Feeling very, very good!
January 9, 2001

We are heading out on the road! It is going to be a tough trip without Sean and Malik. We left today for Orlando and Detroit. Cheryl wrote in and asked me who we will look to with two key guys injured. I don't think there is any one person, but we all know that we each need to step up. Everyone needs to stay in his role and we'll be fine. When guys get out of their roles, it causes problems. We know our roles, and we are ready to do what we need to win.

Mike asked me about the Spurs record at the New Year. Generally we feel pretty good about our team at this point in the season. We are 21-11 in spite of some key injuries. Once we get AJ, Malik, and Sean back, we'll be a stronger team. I look forward to having our team back at full strength.

A whole bunch of you wrote in after I was hurt. I really appreciate that! Right now I am feeling very, very good. I have had no problems since my injury and am ready to go.

Steve asked me about our thoughts going into Orlando, given all that went on last summer. Honestly, all we are thinking about is winning. We are totally focused on doing what we need to do to get a win. We have been struggling on the road, so this will be a good test of our character.

Having a guy like Derek Anderson on the team has done a lot, both for our team and me personally. DA is close to my age, and I have known him since we were in high school. The bond that we have off the court helps our play on the court. Derek is going to step in for me this week. On Saturday, he'll give you his takes on everything from his new town to his new team. He always has a lot to say so send your questions or comments for him to Antonio@antoniodaniels.com and I'll pass them along. I know he would like to hear from you.
