The New Year

I have been keeping awfully busy lately! We have had a hectic travel schedule and of course the holidays in between. I wanted to take a break and catch you up on all that has been going on here with the Blazers and me.

We are starting to feel really good about how this team is coming together. Winning is always good! A lot of people have asked me about the off court distractions and if that has been a problem. Actually, in some ways, it has helped us know that we need to focus more on winning and coming together on the court. Scottie Pippen has provided great veteran leadership this season and other guys have really stepped up. We feel like we’re getting hot at the right time and know that the playoffs are just around the corner.

As for me, I am definitely happy about the opportunity to get more minutes. My role is to step in and provide a spark on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. I feel like I have been able to contribute more lately and help my team. The Blazers really like to push the ball and that fits in well with my style. That tempo allows me to fill the lane and get open shots. DA is one of those guys that have picked up the pace. He is playing great and it’s fun to be on the team with him.

Portland is beginning to feel more and more like home. It is a great city and the facilities and fans are really cool. I still appreciate hearing from all of you and will do a better job of staying in touch. I’m very moved by the email I still get from people in San Antonio. I’ll continue to have a home there in the off season and am looking forward to spending some time there this summer.
