Click here for AD's Column Archives Itching to get back January 22, 2001
I am feeling a lot better. I had two really good workouts
and I'm happy with the way my body has responded to the
treatment. Not practicing in the last two weeks has thrown
my timing off. I won't be back fully until I get some
contact and can get up and down. I have been doing a lot
of wind sprints and shooting. I am itching to get back!Tom asked me how I have felt having to watch from the bench. I try to do what I can, but it has been frustrating. I cheer the guys on when the time is appropriate. We have a lot of guys who are perfectionists and this has been hard on them. The last thing they need is someone yelling out, "You should have done this or that" or "You missed this or that". I just try to pump them up and encourage them. Sometimes Tim will ask, "What was open on the post move" or Antonio will ask about the defensive assignments. So when I can contribute by giving my input, I will. The last few games have been tough but we are not down on ourselves. Instead, we are looking forward to the next game. This happens in the NBA--teams get beat. We have not taken anything away from the teams who beat us. We just want to minimize that once we get healthy again. We will get the ship righted. And now for my Super Bowl pick: I can't stand the Giants! They whopped up on my beloved Eagles three times this year. My roommate is from Vermont and claims to be a New York fan so he is really into the Giants. WHEN the Ravens win, I am going to rub it in his face! Thanks for all your support!
