Happy Thanksgiving from AJ

I appreciated the email that you all sent and your concern for my health. I am feeling good at this point in the season. My hamstring injury set me back more than I wanted to admit. Now I am finally getting in the groove and starting to get my quickness back. We are only two and a half weeks into the season so its a good time to start really getting my game together.

Tom asked me how I feel about the team at this point in the season. We lost at the buzzer at Dallas. Things could have gone either way had that game gone in to overtime. We didnt execute well down the stretch in Minnesota. And Phoenix deserved to beat us. As a team, we feel that we should be 9 1, at worst 8 - 2. Pop wanted us to pay a little more attention to detail and keep a higher level of concentration throughout the game. So that is what we are going to try to do.

The addition of Derek Anderson has meant a lot to the team because he is so athletic and can score a lot. This year we can run more plays with our two guard in certain situations. But more than just DA alone it has been DA plus Sean Elliott, DA plus an improved Antonio Daniels and DA plus an improved bench. Those factors have combined to make the team a lot stronger.

Scott wrote in and asked me about the tough time we have had at the free throw line this year, particularly Tim and me. We have been working on that. Late in the game your legs get tired and that affects your shot. I just try to adjust and keep my concentration. Thanks for your question Scott and well try to do better!

The Johnson family is hosting about eight guys from the team this year for Thanksgiving. We are going to have a huge dinner at our house. My wife and I have been working hard to be ready and are really looking forward to it. I have a few special Cajun recipes! Thanksgiving is such a special time and we are happy to be able to share it with my teammates. I wish all of you and happy and safe Thanksgiving.
