for AD's Column ArchivesWe solved that problem! October 4, 2000 - From Training Camp Welcome to the all-new antoniodaniels.com! We listened to you and made some major changes for the new season. From the AD Poll to gear to weekly player insights, this is the place to be. I am glad you are here and glad we are underway! Two a days have started. Camp opened and everyone has a great attitude and is very optimistic. The Spurs made some great moves over the summer. Picking up Derek Anderson and Danny Ferry will be tremendous. Guys have worked on their games over the summer and are in great shape. Having Tim stay here is great for our team, our organization and for San Antonio -- obviously! During the free agency period we talked a lot. Because we are such good friends, I wanted whatever would be best for him and he wanted whatever would be best for me. I think what happened was that we both solved that problem! Tom asked me about seeing the Lakers holding up the trophy. All I could think about was next season. We can't down the Lakers because they have a great team. There is no doubt that there are some tremendous players on that team. We had injury upon injury but that has nothing to do with them. That has to do with us. We are not about excuses; we are about getting to work. The season is here and we are ready to challenge. Whatever happens, happens. I don't want to sit here and bark about championships. We just want to play up to our potential. That expectation has us aiming for some very high goals. They got their championship and now we are ready to get to work. This year is going to be great on antoniodaniels.com. Look around the site and you'll see lots of new features.
